College can be a place of self-discovery, establishing life-long friendships and an opportunity to break free from parental rule. While some students adjust to college life naturally, a minority student at a predominantly white institution or a military veteran can face unique challenges in the transition. Are the lack of support and inclusion at some of these universities the reason for low minority enrollment? Are universities providing a community where our veteran students can thrive? We talk with WBEZ interns Marcus Blueitt, Yun Tai and Camille Smith about some of these challenges and how they coped with these circumstances during their college careers.
