‘Come Find Your Tribe’ At WakandaCon Chicago

Is it Challenge Day already? Back for its second year in a row, WakandaCon—inspired by Marvel’s “Black Panther” film—is a cultural convention celebrating Black identity.

With sessions that include “Melanin and Mental Health,” “Diversifying the Space Industry,” Jabari musical therapy, and a “code-a-thon” that would make Black Panther’s tech-savvy sister Shuri proud, the convention seeks to intersect discussions of media, tech and creativity with Black achievement and representation.

Co-founders Dave and Matt Barthwell stop by the studio to talk about what’s new this year at WakandaCon and how they want to help fans “come find their tribe.”
