Comedy and theater companies looking to diversify the casts
CBS' Late, Late Show host Craig Ferguson announced Monday that he was stepping down from the show. This comes on the heels of Stephen Colbert planning to take the reins from David Letterman on Late Show with David Letterman when the host retires next year. The revolving host seats has forced some to call for more diversity on the talk show scene which is often seen as a bastion for some of the best comedy writers. Smaller comedy scenes and theater companies are attempting to respond to those calls for more diversity by offering training programs here on the fertile training ground of Chicago. We hear from some people who are changing the tide.
