A bill that would extend federal unemployment benefits passed a key hurdle in the Senate Tuesday. This paves the way for the House to vote on it. The Obama administration and Democrats are pushing the extension as they say unemployed are still in need of the extra income, but Republicans argue they don’t have the money.
