Congresswoman Duckworth continues push for improved military policy

Congresswoman and veteran Tammy Duckworth is focusing on the needs of female soldiers as the House takes up the National Defense Authorization Act. The NDAA determines the fiscal path of the Department of Defense. Congresswoman Duckworth of Illinois’ 8th District introduced two amendments that address how the military is not providing all that female soldiers need to prepare for battle, and to transition back to civilian life. On Friday, she's set to introduce legislation that would extend maternity leave for vets. Duckworth details those amendments. (Photo: Flickr/McLaren Photographic LLC)
