Cook County Officials Battle Over Public Health Budget

While the pop tax may have been unpopular, repealing it has not gone without consequences. On Tuesday, Cook County commissioners debated where to make cuts to the Health and Hospitals System, a necessity Board President Toni Preckwinkle warned of last month when she revealed her 2018 spending plan. So where are the cuts likely to be made, and how much money are we talking about here?
