In an ongoing reexamination of Chicago Public School meals, WBEZ reporter Monica Eng has met some resistance from the district when it comes to sharing information. First she was denied ingredients to the districts most served entrees and lately she’s been trying to pry information on sugar levels in the food out of CPS officials. Last Friday, after two months of delays and intervention by the Illinois Attorney General’s office, Eng finally learned how much sugar is in some of the most popular foods in the district and she is here to discuss that information with CPS Director of Nutrition Services, Leslie Fowler.
