Deported Army Veteran Returns To Chicago For Citizenship Hearing

An Army veteran who was denied U.S. citizenship and deported to Mexico in 2018 is back in Chicago to meet with immigration officials.

Miguel Perez Jr., 41, was deported after serving jail time for a drug-related conviction. He was pardoned by Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker in September, which could make him eligible for citizenship.
