DNC asks Chicago to bid for 2016 convention

Chicago is one of 15 cities the Democratic National Convention has requested to bid on hosting the 2016 convention. Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office told the Chicago Sun-Times in February that the Mayor had no intention to seek out the convention. The last time the city hosted the event was in 1996.
