Dusty Grooves ending dance party

Cobra Lounge on Chicago’s near west side is known as a rockbar. But five years ago, classic soul took over Cobra on Thursday nights. They called it Dusty Grooves, and it grew into a destination dance party with people crammed to the rafters. This Thursday is the final “Dusty Grooves.” They’re going out while they’re still on top. Johnny Walker, the man behind the wheels of steel, joins us to talk about the rise and demise of a Soul night in the city. (Flickr/yozza)
