Dieting rates have tumbled from 31 percent in 1991 to about 20 percent but that’s still a lot of people! Are they wrong to try a temporary diet? Preventative medicine researchers Sherry Pagoto and Bradley Appelhans co-published a report in the Journal of the American Medical Association in August calling for an end to the diet debate, saying that too much emphasis is placed on whether or not a diet can cause specific changes rather than whether or not we can actually stick to it.
