Chicago band The Sea and Cake have been around for more than 20 years, blending pop, rock, and even jazzy Brazilian sensibilities. Many of the members were (and still are) visual artists before they became musicians, and that unique way of seeing the world is also a big part of their sound. Band founder, vocalist, and rhythm guitarist Sam Prekop talks about Any Day, their first album in six years-and how this record was different from the ones that came before.
