Experts debate the pros and cons of required coding classes
Chicago Public Schools announced plans this month to make computer science a required course for students in the next five years. This includes classes that teach students how to build Websites and other Web-based applications. In many other countries, younger students get into the coding game much earlier than here in the U.S. So what’s the advantage for students to have this knowledge? Writers Brendan Koerner and Jathan Sadowski take up the issue.
