From Candy Heir To Minor League Hockey Journeyman: The Story Of Nello Ferrara
Born into Chicago-area family that created Lemonheads and Red Hots, Nello Ferrara was always supposed to run the candy empire, but he decided to ditch the family biz to play hockey instead. Yet, despite playing for 19 minor league hockey teams from 2003 to 2014, Nello Ferrara is a name that even the most avid fan may not be familiar with. In doing so, Ferrara became something of a locker room legend. Morning Shift talks to features writer Jason Buckland, who told Ferrara’s story in the New York Times.
