There’s always talk about making business practices a bigger part of government, especially in a tight gubernatorial race with a successful businessman going up against an incumbent he’s labeling a “career politician”. One of these practices that governments often tap is privatization-outsourcing services and management to companies and taking that burden off government officials. Other states have made this move with prisons, but there’s a law on the books here in Illinois that prevents that from happening. But, that doesn’t mean that services aren’t farmed out.
