How The Government Shutdown Is Hitting Chicago Area

It’s Day 20 of the partial federal government shutdown, and Chicago residents are feeling the pain.

Around 800,000 federal workers have been furloughed nationwide or are working without pay across nine agencies. More than 10,000 of those workers live in Illinois.

Morning Shift checks in with a panel of reporters covering the local effects of the shutdown on everything from EPA hearings, court dates, the TSA and food stamps.
