Huntley High School students were caught off guard recently after returning to classrooms from spring break. What bewildered them? A new school bell system with a noticeably higher sounding tone. While the sound might not have been enough to immediately raise the eyebrows of Huntley’s Principal Scott Rowe, it did. That’s because a group of students led by Sophomore Kyle Ockerlund tested the effects of the new school bell on students’ concentration. After months of continued research, the administration has worked alongside Ockerlund to craft a more ideal tone for student learning.
