Lucinda Ali Landing had the advantage growing up of having a father who encouraged her training and talent as a violin player. But she realized not all aspiring musicians had that opportunity. So she created it. In 1998, she started the Hyde Park Suzuki Institute to provide music instruction for young people on Chicago’s South Side. Landing joins us to explain the mission of the Institute, and she brings along some young musicians to perform.
