Wednesday marks 100 days since Democrat Kwame Raoul took office as Illinois’ 42nd attorney general, winning a seat held by Lisa Madigan for 16 years until she decided to step down.

Raoul is a former prosecutor who served as an Illinois state senator in the 13th district for 14 years.

He defeated Republican challenger Erika Harold by double digits in November after campaigning on promises of increased transparency, criminal justice reform and holding the Trump administration accountable.

Morning Shift talks to Raoul about his biggest priorities in office and how he plans to “serve on the front lines” against President Trump’s immigration, healthcare and environmental policies.
