Investigation looks at health care in Illinois prisons

Every year, 80 to a hundred people die in Illinois prisons. Many families blame the health care, but the Department of Corrections defends its record. WBEZ has reviewed thousands of medical records and autopsies and WBEZ’s Robert Wildeboer breaks down the numbers. We also hear from the DOC’s Tom Shaer about how Illinois prisons handle inmates’ health care. Photo: Flickr/Tim Pearce, Los Gatos
