If you’re two musicians who also are fans of Dostoyevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov what better way to honor the Russian writer than naming your band after two of the novel’s main characters? Enter the rock-folk band Ivan & Alyosha. While the name wasn’t the idea of the two original members Tim Wilson and Ryan Carbary, both are fans of Dostoyevsky. I&A started out as a duo in Seattle back in 2007 and now records as a quintet. The music has a touch of 60’s psychedelia and 80’s pop, with an occasional twang. The band plays a show Tuesday night at Lincoln Hall. A stripped down version of the band stops by the Morning Shift for a preview.
