As Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot prepares to take office, the Emanuel Administration is pushing two major projects through City Council before a new class of lawmakers take over.

The council’s Finance Committee is scheduled to vote on TIF subsidies this week for two of Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s pet projects — the $6 billion Lincoln Yards development on the North Side and “The 78” in the South Loop.

Mayor-elect Lori Lightfoot has spoken out against the mega developments, and asked lawmakers to slow down on both projects. She takes office May 20.
