A Chicago group dedicated to preserving and sharing Polish culture is celebrating its 50th season. The Lira Ensemble bills itself as the nation’s only professional performing arts company specializing in Polish music and dance. The Ensemble includes an orchestra, singers and dancers. It’s kicking off its Golden Year with a concert at the Harris Theater this Sunday. Lucyna Migala wears several hats: artistic director, co-founder and general manager. She joins us to talk about Lira’s history, and why it’s important to spread Polish culture.
