Local Synagogue has strong connections to turmoil in Ukraine

As the world’s powers rattle their sabres and Russia moves troops in place along the borders, Ukraine’s Jewish population is experiencing threats and violence not seen since the early days of the Russian revolution. Evanston’s Beth Emet Synagogue has been in touch with their sister synagogue in Simferopol and the reports run the gamut from disturbing to frightening.
