Malian guitarist Habib Koite performs songs from his latest album 'Soo'
Malian guitarist Habib Koite has been compared to Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Rolling Stone magazine has called him Mali’s biggest pop star. Koite’s musical education began at a young age; watching and listening to his parents perform. By the time Koite was 20 years old he was a conductor at Mali’s Bamako National institute of Arts. Habib Koite is a gifted guitarist who can play anything from blues to flamenco. He stops by to play tunes from his latest release Soo.
