Mayor Emanuel’s Task Force on a Minimum Wage holds its first meeting
Last month Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel created a task force to weigh the pros and cons of raising Chicago’s minimum wage; which is now $8.25. The mayor has not come out with a specific wage, instead leaving that up to the task force. The group is made up of business leaders, aldermen and labor officials and the philanthropic community. It just wrapped up its inaugural meeting. We’re joined by two task force members who share their ideas on how to tackle the issue.
