Med students fear desensitization when dealing with death
A new study finds that students at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine feel unrest about becoming desensitized to patients’ deaths. The students expressed a need to share feelings and emotions with one another and patients. The study’s lead author Mark Kuczewski shares more findings from the study, and what medical students can do to strike the right balance when dealing with death.
