Longtime Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan was re-elected as
the chair of the state’s Democratic party earlier this week. The development
was not a big surprise, but the vote did come shortly after Madigan was accused
of not being forthright about allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct
by some of his employees.
