Misinformation can leave credit on the table

The earned income tax credit, or EITC, exists to offer tax relief to low income working families. The goal is that the credit will be funneled back into the economy. Some state lawmakers want to increase this credit from 10 to 20 percent, but opponents think a bump could halt personal economic growth.
