More Than 200 New Laws Just Took Effect in Illinois: What You Need To Know

Illinois will commemorate the birthday of former President Barack Obama under a new law that goes into effect in 2018. As of Jan. 1, more than 200 new laws took effect in Illinois. They include everything from a politically controversial abortion bill to the designation of a new state holiday dedicated to former President Barack Obama.
