Morning Shift - June 11, 2015

This summer, the Chicago Police Department is running a series of listening tours around the city to hear from residents about police-community relations. CPD hasn’t made the list public. Instead, it’s reaching out to churches and other organizations one by one to set up the meetings. As a result, there hasn’t been much media coverage of what goes on when Superintendent McCarthy and his deputies take questions from the public and listen to their concerns. Our next guests offer first-hand accounts of the issues and questions community members are raising during. Also, blues tunes from London Souls. (Flickr/Steve Rhodes)
