There is competing legislation working its way through the Illinois General Assembly that could result in higher electricity rates for customers of ComEd. One would take that extra money and help prop up nuclear power plants, another would allow customers to manage their energy consumption in a variety of ways. The final proposal would require energy companies to cut demand over a 10-year period. We talk with proponents of each measure and try to make sense of it all. And our weekly dose of Reclaimed Soul.
