For television, fall means a new season of shows and one of those is the popular hip hop drama Empire, which has its Season 2 premiere tonight. We talk about the show’s cultural impact. And there’s no doubt Chicago aldermen having been getting calls from their constituents about Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s planned property tax hike and garbage collection fees. The mayor laid out his budget yesterday and now it’s up to aldermen to decide how they’ll vote and what changes they’ll push for. We’re joined by three freshman aldermen who share their take on the mayor’s proposed budget. We also get an update on plans to build a Whole Foods in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood, and what it says about working to eliminate food deserts in some of the city’s underserved areas.
