Music Thursday for the month of February will celebrate Black History Month. Thursday kicks off with a look at black music from 1926, 1970 and 1976. 1926 was the year Negro History Week was created, 1970 was when a group of black students at Kent State created Black History Month, and 1976 is when President Jimmy Carter made Black History Month a national celebration. We’ll play music and hear stories from those years. AP: Flickr- Jon Pekelnicky
