New ad raises awareness of issues facing American Indian community
During the broadcast of game three of the NBA Finals, an ad ran highlighting the depth and breadth of Native American people, culture, pride and achievements. The group who put the ad out is trying to get the Washington NFL team to change the “redskins” name and logo. Dorene Wiese of the American Indian Association of Illinois talks about current successes and challenges of Chicago’s Native American residents.
