As of July 1st, uninsured Cook County residents are covered under the new Medicaid program CountyCare. The 1.8 billion dollar deal had former Cook County Health & Hospitals CEO Dr. Ramanathan Raju so excited, he talked about expanding the program. Now the county health system is under new leadership. Current CEO Dr. John Jay Shannon talks about his vision for CountyCare and the overall state of the system.
