New report says raising minimum wage would have mixed effects
Republicans have long argued that raising the minimum wage would kill jobs, while Democrats say that it would help alleviate poverty. A new report shows that both may be right. The Congressional Budget Office's report shows that increasing the minimum wage to $10.10 would lift 900,000 people out of poverty, but also cost the economy 500,000 jobs.We talk with Bloomberg News reporter Michael Bender to break down the numbers and political implications of the report.
