The Circuit Court of Cook County is the largest unified court system in the country. And each year, thousands of people stand trial on a huge range of offenses. The independent, non-profit Chicago Justice Project wanted answers to a whole range of questions when it came to the courts. What are the top 10 offenses in Cook County? How many felonies resulted in a conviction? If you look at a map of the county, do you see patterns and concentrations for convictions? After combing through five years of records, answers to those questions and more can now be found on the new website Convicted in Cook.CJP’s Executive Director Tracy Siska joins us to talk about the project and help crunch some numbers.
