Northwestern Chaplain first woman to recite Quran

Tahera Ahmad became the first Muslim Chaplain at Northwestern University in 2010. Now she’s completed another first. Last weekend, she was the first woman to recite from the Quran in a public session at the Islamic Society of North America conference. She explains the evolution of American Muslim women and what last weekend meant to her. Photo: Flickr/abdiqani
