American musician Miguel Merino traveled to Cairo in 2009 and met Eastern Sudanese lyre player Ahmed Said Abuamna. The two began playing music together and formed a group called Otaak Band. In 2012 they recorded Bejawiya. Otaak Band brings their sound to Morning Shift with a preview of their show at the Old Town School of Folk Music. (Photo courtesy of Otaak Band)
