We continue our series called Our Representatives where we’re speaking with the congressmen, congresswomen and U.S. senators that represent the WBEZ listening area in Washington.

Last week, we spoke with Republican Congressman Fred Upton, a member of the House tax conference committee. Today, in advance of votes on tax reform in the House and Senate this week, we check in with another member of the Michigan delegation, Democratic Senator Gary Peters.

Morning Shift spoke with Peters on tax reform, Great Lakes initiatives, and why he thinks it’s important to focus on safety in self-driving cars.
