Pat Quinn Pushes For Mayoral Term Limits

It may be a long shot, but former Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has gathered signatures for a binding ballot measure that would impose two term limits on Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and any of his successors.

Quinn, who lost a primary bid for attorney general in March, says he’s collected 80,000 signatures and plans to file them by the end of the day August 6, the deadline for filing.

His effort comes despite a state law limiting the number of referendums on each ballot to three, and the Chicago City Council already chose those three questions at a meeting in June.

Guest host Lourdes Duarte of WGN-TV sits down with former Gov. Quinn to talk about his push for mayoral term limits.
