Plastic bag ban goes to committee in revised form

Chicago is one step closer to banning plastic shopping bags - but the ban would be far less widespread than originally planned. After a compromise in City Council, restaurants and small independent business would be exempt from the ban, along with small, mom-and-pop retailers.
