Play's musicians find additional outlet to perform global, fusion sounds
What happens when musicians hired for a major musical production get an itch for an extracurricular performance outlet? In the case of the performers involved in The Jungle Book musical, they begin finding other ways to satiate their creative and performance thirsts. The result is Out of the Jungle, a one-off performance that blends jazz and traditional Indian classical music. The group gives a one-night-only performance Monday at the Fine Arts Building in Chicago.
