Protests Continue After Release Of Paul O’Neal Video
On Friday afternoon, the Independent Police Review Authority and the Chicago Police Department released a series of videos from body and dash cams showing the events leading up to, and the aftermath of, the shooting of 18-year-old Paul O’Neal.
The public had all weekend to parse through the videos and members of O’Neal’s family saw it Friday morning. Community activists were also invited by CPD to view the videos, which was the quickest release of shooting related videos from IPRA and the department.
Protests took place throughout the weekend in response to the videos. Community activist William Calloway, who pushed for the release of the Laquan McDonald shooting video earlier this year, organized a protest in South Shore. He shares his reaction to the videos.
