Phil Everly passed away over the weekend. The Everly Brothers’ close harmonies had a massive impact on the sound of Rock n Roll, directly directly influencing the Beatles, the Beach Boys, Simon & Garfunkel, ABBA, and many more. Their music also touched local musicians like Kelly Hogan. Hogan spent years singing harmony behind notable musicians like Nico Case, Mavis Staples, and Alejandro Escovedo.
