What makes a city strong? And what makes a city fragile?

These questions led Robert Muggah and his team at the Igarapé Institute in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, to develop Fragile Cities — a data visualization platform that tracks the fragility of cities based on 11 metrics.

Muggah was a speaker at the 2019 Pritzker Forum on Global Cities, which was organized by the Chicago Council on Global Affairs from June 5 to 7.

Morning Shift talks to Muggah about his data-driven approach to research and how Chicago fares against the global landscape.
