Ron Rapoport spent more than 20 years writing an award-winning sports column for his hometown paper Chicago Sun-Times, before going on to do the same for the Los Angeles Times and the Associated Press. Growing up in the city, Rapoport was exposed daily to some of the giants of the genre.
