Senators file immigration bill

After months of talks, a proposed immigration overhaul has emerged from a bipartisan group of eight U.S. senators including Illinois’s Dick Durbin. New York Senator Charles Schumer early this morning introduced the legislation. It’s 844 pages. The Chicago area is home to hundreds of thousands of unauthorized immigrants — and many others with an interest in what might come of this legislation.
