A bill sponsored by U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders, chairman of the Senate Veteran Affairs Committee, expanding health, education and other benefits for veterans that could cost $21 billion over the next 10 years made it over the hump Tuesday in the Senate. But for currents benefits available to veterans, some just may not know what they’re entitled. The Veterans Administration provides many programs to help vets get job training, short-term housing and many other benefits. It’s just a matter of getting the word out.
